Arriving at Mission beach was a relief after running out of things to do in Cairns. I was happy spending my day by my 2nd favourite beach so far. My first favourite being Cape Tribulation of course.
I spent about 2 hours on the beach topping up my tan, which is now extremely evident. I got bored and decided to head back, get changed, and go on a walk/hike. I was expecting a little bit more of a hike, but the ground was incredibly flat. I did the Cutten Brothers Walking Track which was about 1.6km each way. I’m not going to deny it, I jumped everytime there was a rustling in the leaves/grass. It is Auz after all, mostly everything wants to kill you. As I got to the end of the track though the views were worth it. The Bingil Bay beaches reminded me of Cape Trib: lush green rainforest meets crystal clear waters. Those (the beach + the walk) were the two things I wanted to do over 2 days and I finished them both in 1. So I decided to cut my trip here short and head to Townsville a day early. Not before getting up at 5am to walk 30 minutes to the only place with signal, to FaceTime the family back home whilst watching the sunrise.
